Founded in 1882 by Reverend J.C. Strickland, the First Methodist Church of Anson is rich in history and zealous in serving the Lord as well as the community. Holding fast to the mission statement, every member strives to make each individual who passes over the threshold of the building feel not only the love of Christ, but a feeling that they are welcomed home.
FMC Anson offers a wide range of Sunday school classes, bible studies, and community outreach events throughout the month. There is a place for your whole family within our congregation and we look forward to seeing your soon!
Meet the Pastor
Bruce L. Morgan
Bruce has been pastor of FMC Anson since January 2021. Prior to that, he served as our music minister for 16 years. He has been in church ministry for an accumulative 28 years. Bruce’s wife, Nancy, also serves weekly as our church organist/pianist.
Bruce has a degree from Hardin Simmons University in Abilene, Tx, as well as a degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fort Worth, Tx.
After retiring from his position as a high school band director, he continues to work with high school bands and the Hardin Simmons University Concert Band.
Bruce and Nancy are grandparents to 7 wonderful grandchildren (and one little boy on the way!) and 1 great-grandchild.

Sunday Service
There is no better way to get started in a new church home than to attend the Sunday Service! Join us every week at 10:45am to grow in your relationship with Christ through a faith filled sermon and the melodies of traditional hymns.
Sunday School Classes
Attending Sunday School is the perfect way to get to know your fellow congregates as well as deepen your knowledge and faith in Christ. With a class for Pre-K age to well into the double digits, there is sure to be a class for your entire family to enjoy!
Children’s Ministries
Whether your child is 2 or 17, FMC has a place for them!

Outreach Opportunities
We are passionate about serving our community, especially our neighbors in need. Join us for Food Pantry preparation and distribution once a month!
